THE RETURN OF THE KING OF THE BOYS (NETFLIX REVIEW 2021)
The long awaited movie, “The return of the king of the boys 2”, finally got launched on Netflix in August, and the entire country couldn’t wait to watch it. The publicity and hype for the movie was on point and people couldn’t just wait to see the exciting Nigerian movie that first got released in 2018. The movie made loads of wave and was loved by all, as they revealed loads of issues in the Nigerian system- the crime, political, drama- that people could relate to. Hence, the complete acceptance by majority of people.
The 7 episode series return was just amazing and beautiful. I enjoyed every bit of it. The movie kept me up all night the weekend of its release, till I finished it. I literally watched it everywhere- Friday night, at a wedding on Saturday, and on Sunday I couldn’t wait to dismiss from church, so I could just finish it.
The tension kept me wanting more, if you haven’t seen 1, you might need to go check it and come back for this. For those who have you will remember Eniola Salami from 1, the king of the boys herself, she had escaped thecountry 3 years ago to save her life after her kids were murdered in cold blood. She decided to return and take over what was rightly hers – the seat as the governor of Lagos state as she was promised before she was betrayed. The entire suspense movie kept us all spell bound as we were not sure who was for her or against her, the plots and twist were impeccable and at the tail end I couldn’t help but give them a standing ovation, you will need to watch the entire 7 episodes to understand why people are this excited about the movie, the movie was action packed you will need to pay close at attention and at the end of 7 wait a bit for the final suspense. Although some people have their reservations, I prefer 1 to 2 because of some oversight. I still did enjoy 2 and I don’t think those little faults are so big to score them down for.

To my verdict, I would say 9.5/10. I totally enjoyed this movie and I am sure majority of people agree with me. I loved the story line, the plot, twist, betrayals and the epic end that left us all breathless and speechless but in a very good way. I must confess that the costumes were beautiful and amazing and to a very good extent, they paid attention to details and left majority of us wondering if they would be a season 2. I am sure there will be, and we are all looking forward to it. If you enjoyed 1 then you might what to try part 2 out and let us know what you think.
