SQUID GAME (NETFLIX REVIEW 2021)
Squid has moved on to becoming one of the most talked after and watched movie right now on the globe, everyone is talking about the new Netflix series that just got released this September, the movie is on its way to becoming one of the most watched show on Netflix in the history of any language, the movie has topped the charts in over 83 countries in 3weeksthe Hwang explained that he initially created the story for this movie in 2008 about 13 years ago, he said that the script of the “Squid Game” wasn’t really accepted initially by people, they claimed that the movie twisted nostalgia of Korean childhood games into vehicles of kill or get killed situations, they also added that the theme is now being praised as realistic.
The Korean movie started quiet slowly but picked up so fast, the movie had 9 episodes of the Season 1.
The movie started with a flash back of 2 kids playing some old games and having fun, then went on to explain the life of Lee Jung-Jae who played the lead role as “Seong Gi-Hun” he was a man with a very good heart, but had serious issues with managing alcohol and funds.
He had squandered all his resources on gambling, lost his wife and daughter was at the verge of losing his mum. He was approached by a young man to play a game and then enter a competition that will seat over 450 other applicants who would all play old Korean kid games to win the price money of a whooping sum of over 48b Korean money or $38m dollars.
At first we all thought it was a simple sweet game where the losers will be thrown out, only to realize that, for every game you lose the contestants would be eliminated and their bodies destroyed. Just after the drama of the very first game “Red light, Green Light” where half were eliminated, was at that point I knew we were in for a fantastic movie.

You really have to pay attention to the movie and listen appropriately as the movie teaches you a lot of things about the reality of Life and the work place, the movie was so deep with loads of lessons, that you can’t just walk away without learning a thing of two.
I loved the storyline, concept, costumes, the cinematography, the plot, the twist, the suspense all through, where there are scammers within the scammers, make sure you wait for the amazing end and thank me later, it was just so nice and I guess we have to keep our fingers crossed as we wait for season 2, if there will be one as they have loads of explanations to make to clarify season 1.
To my verdict this movie deserves a 9.5/10, trust me if you have an open mind and you can think outside the box, then you will get this movie and understand the hype and praises behind the movie.
