THE WILDFLOWER (CINEMA REVIEW) 2022
“Wildflower” was a very touching Nigerian movie that revealed a lot of issues happening presently in our society.
It revealed how women are struggling with domestic violence, rape and abuse in different ways. It was an eye opener to the many dangers small girls face around in their neighborhood.
A bit about the story, they talked about 3 different ladies, who lived in the same apartment, but experiencing various forms of assault and violence in their respective homes and place of work.
Toyin referred to as “Mama Olisa” was constantly being beaten by her husband. Her daughter whom she always sent to deliver products to one of the male neighbors ended up molesting her and their neighbor who worked with Deyemi Okanlawon “Gowon”, also got raped on one of her work trips with him. It looked like they were all facing one issue of violence to another.
The movie revealed a lot of things happening and why women should speak up to avoid being killed in marriages. It also revealed that the perpetrators of such evil must be served the adequate punishment to discourage others from doing it.

To my verdict I would score the movie 7.5/10. It was a simple nice drama movie with loads of lessons, on how ladies can be more careful and what they should do when the need arises. They did reveal loads of things happening presently in our society and it was good to see that justice was served to all.
Thinking of something nice to check out in the cinema, you might want to try this out.
