Nothing to lose Review
I bumped into this movie and I kind of enjoyed it, although it tilted a bit into a religious kind of movie,
I did learn a few lessons here and there and I am sure a few of you would kind of enjoy the storyline, It’s one of those very simple movie telling a story about a normal man who later became a great man of God, going on to touch millions of souls. I must warn you that the movie started out quiet dull and slow, but the entire story was revealed towards the end.
The story was centered mainly on one man and his family Petronio Gontijo played the lead role as the Pastor, who went on to become the bishop. The movie was based on a true life story, Petronio tried to tell the real story of the difficulties and challenges that Edir Macedo faced on his journey to greatness and how he was able to overcome all the trails and still stay victorious.
The movie was the authorized biopic of Edir Macedo, who was the founder and spiritual adviser of The Universal Church of the Kingdom of God worldwide and owner of RecordTv in Brazil, based on the books and journey this movie disclosed his entire life story and journey to victory. Petronio did a very good job by making the story feel so real.
He gave his life as a young guy and kept coming out every Sunday for years, along the line he met a very lovely young lady in church who later became his wife, and they had kids and brought them up in the way of the lord. He had this conviction in his heart that he was called to preach, but no one wanted to take a chance on him, he took the bull by the horn, started preaching and healing on the streets till he acquired his church.
One funny side of life was that no one saw his struggles in life until he became famous and wealthy, then they all crept up saying he was using false powers and manipulating people, never forget in life people will never see your struggle, but they will only try to bring you down once you become great and successful, but then don’t let them ever bring you down, don’t hate them either but you must learn to forgive them and love them anyway, because God knows best and he allows things to happen for a reason.

To my verdict I would score the movie 6/10, it was a well written, scripted and edited movie, I loved the simplicity of the movie, no shouting or action, just a simple drama movie, but I listened and I enjoyed the message they wanted to pass across, so if you like drama movie, you might enjoy this, but please note this movie is a very slow paced movie and only those who are patient can wait for it.
