Let’s Switch Wives is a Nollywood drama produced by Ruth Kadiri. The story centres on three married couples, each on the brink of divorce, who by court order, are sent to a seven-day therapeutic retreat with a marriage counsellor.
A judge, recognising that standard divorce proceedings would not save these marriages, orders all three couples to attend a week‐long retreat at a luxury hotel under the care of a seasoned marriage counsellor.

On arrival, each couple is placed in its own suite and begins private counselling. Tensions flare when one spouse’s unresolved anger erupts, prompting the counsellor to propose the radical “swap”. To foster empathy, each husband is paired with another couple’s wife. Over shared meals in the hotel’s restaurant and team‐building sports at the resort grounds, the mismatched pairs discover how differently they each communicate and cope with anxiety.

Halfway through, cultural expectations around childbearing and domestic roles ignite new conflicts—one swapped wife feels patronised, another fears her new partner will abandon her for a more “submissive” spouse. Through a combination of one-on-one therapy, a couples’ trust‐fall exercise and a group debrief on egoism, each pair finally voices their deepest resentments and unmet needs.
On the final day, the counsellor reunites the original spouses for a closing ceremony. Armed with new insights into each other’s fears and expectations, the three couples commit to open dialogue, laying the groundwork for repaired relationships.
