
HAVOC 2025 – A NETFLIX MOVIE REVIEW
The action kicks off with a botched drug heist involving Charlie (Justin Cornwell), his girlfriend Mia (Quelin Sepulveda), and their friends Johnny and Wes. Unknown to them, the washing machines they steal are filled with hidden cocaine. Their actions set off a chain reaction, drawing the ire of both the Triad and corrupt narcotics officers led by Vincent (Timothy Olyphant). During a subsequent confrontation, Triad leader Tsui is assassinated by masked assailants, further complicating the situation.

Detective Walker, estranged from his family and entangled in the city’s corruption, is coerced by real estate tycoon and mayoral candidate Lawrence Beaumont (Forest Whitaker) to locate and protect his son, Charlie. Teaming up with rookie officer Ellie (Jessie Mei Li), Walker navigates a treacherous landscape of deceit, facing off against both criminal syndicates and his own corrupt colleagues.
As Walker delves deeper, he uncovers a conspiracy involving Vincent and Ching, Tsui’s disgruntled lieutenant. Their alliance aims to profit from the stolen cocaine and eliminate rivals. A pivotal confrontation occurs at a nightclub, resulting in a massive shootout that leaves many dead, including key figures like Raul (Luis Guzmán) and Johnny. Walker, Charlie, and Mia narrowly escape, seeking refuge in a secluded cabin.

The peak of the movie unfolds with a brutal assault on the cabin by Triad forces. Despite fierce resistance, Charlie and Mia are captured. A tense standoff ensues, bringing in revelations of betrayal, a deadly game of Russian Roulette, and a final showdown between Walker and Vincent. The film concludes with Walker wounded and uncertain of his fate as authorities close in.
