She urges him to uncover the origins of King’s death and the mysterious Salvadoran family. Christian re-connects with Braxton, his estranged brother and fellow trained enforcer, prompting an uneasy reunion.

Clues lead them to assassin Anaïs, whom Christian and Braxton trace. Meanwhile, Justine and a team of autistic child prodigies at Harbor Neuroscience provide tech support—hacking phones, drones, traffic cameras. Christian deduces Anaïs was a missing Salvadoran mother whose family was human-trafficked; she lost her memory, became combat-skilled, and is unknowingly central to the conspiracy.

Disturbed by the unethical tactics—illegal kidnappings, bribery—Marybeth distances herself. Anaïs is contracted by a trafficker named Burke to kill Marybeth. She wounds Marybeth but then, upon seeing family photographs, begins remembering her own identity.
