Lydia and the mist rider is an animated fantasy film following 11-year-old Lydia on a quest through the misty Sea to rescue her kidnapped older brother, Thaddeus. Aided by a flying ship’s crew, a loyal sailor and astronaut shiv fueled by her memories, she confronts the mysterious spellbinder.

A strange and dangerous fog sweeps in from the sea and whisks away Lydia’s older brother, Thaddeus.
Determined to save him, 11-year-old Lydia travels into the misty sea and gets picked up by The Dolphin, a magnificent flying sailing ship. She teams up with Lucas, a clumsy but good- hearted junior sailor, alongside her trusty pet, Critter.
On board, Lydia becomes the official student of Ambrosia, an expert astromagician. Ambrosia is also searching for missing children, which includes her own lost son. Lydia learns a stunning magical secret: by tapping into her most precious and deep memories, even the painful ones she can shape powerful star constellations to use as magical force.

Lydia tracks down the spellbinder responsible for taking the children. The antagonist represents an attempt to wipe away grief and painful memories to protect people from hurt, forcing Lydia to realize why remembering and processing trauma matters. Using her newly mastered Astro magic and the strength found in her personal history, Lydia works to defeat the threat, rescue her brother and help free the other captured children.
