The town of Bremerwood is in a tense “Cold War” with merpeople due to dispute over the lucrative oyster and pearl trade.
At the center of the tension is prince Agloval of Bremerwood, a human who is deeply in love with a siren princess named Sh’eenaz. Their forbidden romance is fraught with political friction as the two races cannot agree on how to co-exist, pushing both kingdoms to the brink of an all-out war.

As pearl hunters continue to be slaughtered, the townspeople suspect the sirens. However, Geralt and Jaskeir discover a shrewd, vengeful sea-witch melisma is actively sabotaging the peace. Melusina is manipulating events to incite the humans and the merfolk into slaughtering one another for her own malicious ends. Geralt must navigate a web of conspiracies, monsters and magic to expose her before hostilities escalate.
Geralt, Essi and Jaskier team up to uncover the truth and fend off aquatic attacks by creatures manipulated by Melusina. In a climatic showdown, Geralt fights to protect the sea-people and stop Melusina’s vengeful plot. In a departure from the traditional tragic endings often found in The Witcher lore, prince Agavol makes the ultimate sacrifice. He drinks a lot that transforms him into a merman, allowing him to stay underwater with Sh’eenaz forever.
