Agesinkole 2 follows the return of the legendary bandit-turned-deity to the kingdom of Ajeromi, focusing on renewed corruption among leaders, a plague tied to the neglected river goddess, and a secret plot by wicked chiefs to weaken him through dark shrine rituals.

Years after peace was restored, leaders and chiefs break their sacred oaths of office and begin embezzling funds and acting unjustly. A severe plague hits Ajeromi because the people stopped worshipping the river goddess, forcing the king to command a new appeasement festival. Corrupt chiefs bribe young priests to perform a dark ritual at the shrine to make Agesinkole deaf and blind to their ongoing misdeeds.

Agesinkole senses the attack in his realm and fights back fiercely, killing the young priests involved while only the head priest, Aodu, escapes. The greedy king is brought into the conspiracy by his conveyors chiefs, turning the leadership against the spiritual balance of the land.
A parallel Storyline follows the river goddess choosing her next annual sacrifice representative from someone close to the palace, involving the king’s daughter and a local young man.
