Movie Review – THE INTRUDER
The movie Intruder reminds me of the same kind of storyline where you have either a stranger or a familiar person trying to go into someone’s space, where they are no longer welcomed.
It reminded me of Gabriella Union’s movie of 2018 ‘Breaking In” where she had to stop some hoodlums from coming in to rob herself and her kids and Beyonce’s movie where a lady who was obsessed with her husband was trying to get into their home.
Most of these movies shared similar story lines, in this new movie the old man Charlie, who sold his house was so attached to the house and when the new buyers thought he was gone, he just kept on returning. It was a nice movie, with a bit of suspense and thriller and I can say that most people enjoyed the movie.
I must say that the producers did put a good show with the storyline, the suspense, action, and the nice twist at the end. The movie was directed by Deon Taylor and written by David Loughery. They told a simple storyline in an intriguing way that kept everyone on the edge of their seats throughout the duration of the movie.
One thing we all couldn’t understand was why Annie couldn’t just see nor get that Charlie was a very bad guy and she kept allowing him in with his excesses. The movie practically had 6 main cast: the newly wedded couple, their friends, and the house owner.
I did like the production, the few cast, cinematography, and the few chosen locations, they were all like a perfect fit and the suspense at the very end made it really nice.
There was something cool and nice about the first scene that might lure you from understanding that you are about to watch a suspense and mystery movie. The first scene showed us how Annie and Mike threw a surprise party for her husband Charlie and after the party she made a wish for them to buy a country home and move out of the city so that they could have children and raise them in a saner environment, little did they know that this was the beginning of their crisis.
They went round and bought one lovely mansion from and old retired business man who needed funds to relocate to Florida to meet his daughter, little did they know, that they were all lies, and he had a hidden agenda.
The more they decorated and changed the house to their taste the more Charlie got angry, weeks later they found out that Charlie was always around the neighborhood and was not willing to leave. Well you will have to watch the entire movie till the very end to understand the kind of person Charlie really was. They had to fight to save their lives and home, after paying a fortune for it.

To my verdict I would say the movie deserves a 7/10, it was a nice movie, simple similar storyline like we have seen before, but just with a bit of more twist and suspense.
For all the mystery and suspense movie lovers, you might want to try this new movie, it was fun and exciting and I did learn a few things to look out for before you pay for a new house, always investigate properly and ask questions. Also never trust blindly you must be very careful of strangers who act and pretend to be nice.
