Sincerely I really can’t explain why it took me almost 2 months to complete this new movie by Kunle Afolayan that was released on Netflix in November, for some reasons even not clear to me I started this movie in November and didn’t complete it till December, I kept going back and forth till I was able to make it to the end, hence why this reveal is coming pretty, you must pardon me. So I guess this review will be for those who haven’t made out time to check this movie out on Netflix. The honest is that I felt this movie was really very simple and plain, I couldn’t really find anything extraordinary or resounding about it, but just a simple story about a young girl who was molested by her lecturer, I guess he tried to tell the story of what many young girls face in the higher institution in Nigeria.
I will dive in straight into the story, Temi Otedola who played the lead role as “Moremi” in the movie; she was a very smart young post graduate student, she was loved by all, along the line a new lecture comes in to head the class, he was from Senegal and took interest in her as she was a very bright student who understood French also. He kept on creating scenarios for them to be alone together and each time she avoided the negative passes, one day she attended a party in his place and was left alone with him to clean up, when he suddenly bounced on her and tried to rape her, she was fortunate to hit him badly and escape, but little did she know that he was going to make her life a living hell for not allowing him have his way. When he marked her down and was going to make her carry the course over, she decided to report to the Student Union body to help her fight her case, it was a very serious case as the lecturer turned everything around and made her look like the guilty one, she had to dig into his past and found one guy who helped her fight the case.
Do check out the movie to see what the verdict was and if she was exonerated.

To my verdict I would score this movie 6/10, I liked the fact that they tried to tell a simple story and tell us what is happening in most schools, I loved the cast, crew, locations chosen, the cinematography, the sound track, the effects and the happy end. I loved the fact that they spoke different languages and tried to showcase the rich heritage and culture of Nigerian and Senegal, the oval views were amazing trust me. I didn’t like the fact that there wasn’t really any spectacular or extraordinary thing about this new movie, I guess I just expected so much more from the producer. So if you are looking for a very simple drama kind of movie, you might want to try this movie out.
