In a world devoid of humans, a dark grey cat roams through an abandoned forest. The tranquillity is disrupted when a sudden flood engulfs the landscape, forcing the cat to seek higher ground. As the waters rise, the cat finds temporary refuge atop a giant cat statue, which eventually becomes submerged. In a desperate leap for survival, the cat lands on a passing sailboat occupied by a capybara.

The cat’s journey continues as it encounters a diverse group of animals, each with unique traits and backgrounds. These include a golden retriever separated from its pack, a lemur obsessed with collecting trinkets, and a regal secretarybird ostracised from its flock. Together, this unlikely ensemble navigates the flooded world, facing various challenges that test their ability to cooperate and trust one another.

Throughout their voyage, the animals confront natural perils and internal conflicts. The cat, initially wary and solitary, gradually learns the value of companionship and mutual support. Their collective experiences show adaptation, resilience, and the interdependence of life in the face of environmental trouble.
The film’s climax presents a magical moment, as the secretarybird ascends towards a celestial light, symbolising hope and renewal. As the floodwaters recede, the remaining animals reunite, reflecting on their transformative journey and the bonds forged through shared adversity.
