Horse girl is a psychological drama following Sarah, a socially awkward, lonely craft store employee with a fondness for arts and crafts, horses and a supernatural crime show called purgatory Nurgle.
Sarah starts experiencing gaps in her memory, wakes up in random places, and her bizarre, vivid dreams begin to feel more real than her daily life. She becomes convinced she is suffering from a hereditary condition, similar to her deceased mother and grandmother, which leads to delusions of being a clone.

She exhibits increasingly erratic behavior, which others perceive as mental illness, while she believes she is being abducted by aliens and experiencing time travel. Her relationships with the roommate, crush and friends break down as she loses the ability to distinguish reality from her delusions.
The film ends with Sarah being taken away by a mysterious car, leaving the story open to interpretation whether she has experienced a severe mental health crisis or a genuine, supernatural Sci-fi event.
Horse girl proves that the scariest monster is the one only you can see. And sometimes, it’s not trying to kill you. It’s trying to take you home.
