As teenagers, Nneoma and her friends, Ada and Nkechi, were deeply affected by the struggles of their mothers and aunts, who were all trapped in abusive and patriarchal marriages. They saw how their loved ones were stifled, belittled, and oppressed by their husbands and the societal expectations placed upon them. The trio vowed never to succumb to the same fate, to become independent ladies who would have nothing to do with men. They were determined to break the cycle of oppression and forge their paths.

Oby transforms her convictions into a powerful platform, becoming a feminist influencer and advocate for women’s autonomy. However, her steadfast beliefs are challenged when she meets Ejike, a man who is steady, thoughtful, and unlike any she has known. As their bond deepens, Oby is compelled to confront the ideals she has built her life around and the unexpected vulnerability that comes with falling in love.

Miss Independent thoughtfully explores the balance between strength and softness, highlighting the journey of emotional growth and the redefinition of personal beliefs.
