Movie Review – POWER RANGERS
So I waited for a whole week before I went to see the so called Power rangers, yes you heard me so called Power Rangers, I get really really upset and discouraged when movies are so hyped and talked about and the real thing becomes far from being perfect. This was exactly how I felt when I saw Power Rangers. OMG what were the producers thinking, this was absolutely not the Power Ranges I used to know when I was growing up, I just think they wanted to come up with something new, but this is absolutely not what I had in mind, sometimes the process of repeating a storyline now kills the original excitement. I was so upset with my colleague that encouraged me to go see this movie, I felt so bad that I was going to ask her for a refund.

To cut this story short this wasn’t the movie for me.
The movie was about was about 2hrs 4mins in all, the time spent there seemed like eternity. It felt so long I just couldn’t believe that I was going to make it till the very end, well congratulations to me, I survived till the end. The movie featured acts like Dacre Montegomery, Naomi Scott, Rj Cyler and was produced by Dean Isrealite, it was rated 13 and was applicable. The action, Adventure, Sci-fri movie was just there and not in any way up to my expectations.
Power Rangers started with them showing us a classroom with high school students and how the lead actor Jason stopped a white guy from bullying a black guy in class, he dealt with him and warned him never to do that again, it was his first day in that school and the black boy “Billy” was so happy that he had found a friend, who would always fight for him, so he met up with him after school and wanted them to go out so he could express his gratitude for the kind gesture, explaining how he has always being bullied.
So they went on a mission to the mountain that evening and met up with some other children who coincidentally used to come around there to just relax and stay away from the outside world. Billy found five coins that changed their lives; they each had a coin that made them super heroes. After that night they became exceptionally strong. They could jump any heights and destroy anything. They went on to find a space ship underground that told them they were chosen to defeat the evil woman, who was already around. They were so many disjoints in the storyline. Luckily they fought the evil lady and won the fight, that didn’t in any way excite me.
To my verdict this movie deserves a 4/10 at least for efforts put into it, they just didn’t get it for me, I wanted to see the history or beginning of Power rangers but this wasn’t what I wanted to see. The movie kind of looked not so real on so many instances. The costumes weren’t perfect to me either. Cast, production and location wasn’t perfect to me either. The story line also didn’t add up, how they all met on the mountain on the same day and at the same time, not realistic to me
