Sky Force (2025) is a Hindi-language action drama directed by Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Anil Kapur. The film is inspired by true events from the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965, focusing on India’s first airstrike on Pakistan’s Sargodha airbase. It stars Akshay Kumar as Wing Commander Kumar Om Ahuja (a fictionalised portrayal of Group Captain Om Prakash Taneja), Veer Pahariya as Squadron Leader T. Vijaya (based on Ajjamada Boppayya Devayya), along with Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur.

Set against the backdrop of the 1965 Indo-Pakistani War, the narrative follows Wing Commander Ahuja leading a squadron of Indian Air Force pilots in a daring mission to strike Pakistan’s Sargodha airbase. Among his team is the young and spirited Squadron Leader T. Vijaya, affectionately known as “Tabby,” who shares a close bond with Ahuja.
During the high-stakes mission, Tabby engages in an aerial dogfight with a superior Pakistani F-104 Starfighter. Despite being outmatched, he manages to shoot down the enemy aircraft but goes missing in action, presumed dead.

Haunted by Tabby’s disappearance, Ahuja embarks on a relentless quest to uncover the truth about his comrade’s fate. His journey delves into the bureaucratic and political challenges within the military hierarchy, highlighting the personal sacrifices and emotional toll of war.
The film draws inspiration from the real-life heroics of Group Captain Om Prakash Taneja, who led the successful airstrike on Sargodha, and Squadron Leader Ajjamada Boppayya Devayya, who was posthumously awarded the Maha Vir Chakra for his bravery during the mission.
