The story follows Matt Taylor, a mild-mannered, deeply romantic man whose life collapses when his fiancée abandons him at the altar during their dream wedding in Italy. Left humiliated, heartbroken, and alone in a foreign country, Matt spirals into emotional isolation.

Instead of returning home in defeat, he decides to stay behind, wandering through Italy’s vibrant cities and countryside.
