Humphrey, Vincent’s father is the last true Whale singer, his mystical songs possess magical properties capable of healing coral reefs and maintaining harmony across marine life. As a young calf, Vincent is full of joy and eager to follow in his father’s footsteps, but he struggles to master his own voice or successfully perform healing magic. A terrible tragedy strikes when Vincent’s unwise actions and a subsequent heartbreaking accident( including a ship collision) leads to the loss of his parents. Burdened by grief and convinced never to live up to his father’s legacy, Vincent turns into a cynical, withdrawn teenager who refuses to sing or get involved in the troubles of other sea creatures.
Leviathan, a titanic, squid-like creature locked away by Vincent’s father, begins to break free as a nearby glacier and icebergs melt. Warned by his father’s narwhal ally Monodonna, Vincent learns that the Leviathan will release a deadly, paralytic black ink that threatens to poison and blacken the entire ocean. Vincent attempts to contain the threat himself but fails, overwhelmed by inadequacy, he rejects the idea of fighting it or stepping into his father’s role.

Instead of facing the monster, Vincent decides to travel to the deepest point of the ocean to find the mythical starpool(the whale afterlife), hoping to bring his parents back so his father can defeat the Leviathan for him.
Through the spiritual guidance of his parents and the unwavering support of Walter and Darya, Bincent realizes he cannot rely on the past, he must accept his identity. He finally accepts his mantle of the Whale singer, recognizing that his power comes from self-belief, community and compassion rather than mere replication of his father’s notes. When the Leviathan attacks, Vincent uses his newly unlocked powerful healing not to destroy the creature but to purify and transform it back into a harmless octopus. With the Leviathan neutralized and the toxic threat cleansed, Vincent’s song restores the dying coral reefs and brings life back to the sea.
