The Narcissist’s playbook is a feature-length documentary that exposes the hidden manipulation tactics of malignant narcissists using direct interviews with self-award abusers, survivors and mental health experts.
The film explores narcissism as a deep mental pathology, showing that manipulation happens in small personal relationships and large global leadership. Most people do not know the common “playbook” that abusers use. The documentary aims to teach audiences how to spot these moves and protect themselves.

The film features four self-confessed, Zelig-aware malignant narcissists. Professor Sam Vaknin appears as the primary subject, explaining how objects or pawns in a game. The relationship starts with intense love-bombing and fast pacing. The abuser makes the victim feel uniquely special and adored.
The abuser shifts behavior and starts subtle fault-finding, silent treatments and small criticisms. Confusion and trauma bonding set in. Once the abuser grows bored or secures a new target, they push the victim away. This can be followed by Smear campaign and revenge tactics.
