Due to a neighbor’s social media post, the media descends on the house immediately, Detective Rose arrives to lead the investigation. Although no dead body or primary murder weapon is recovered(Mary manages to hide the knife she woke up holding), the heavy amount of blood prompts the police to immediately treat the case as a high-profile homicide. Mary is instantly branded the prime suspect. Even her own family, particularly her mother, turns against her and doubts her innocence.

As the investigation intensified, Mary spirals into grief and deep psychosis while leaning heavily on her best friend, Tejiri and dealing with conflicting pressure from Chima(Dieko’s best friend). The narrative begins to peel back the layers of Mary and Dieko’s marriage, exposing a history of severe psychological and emotional abuse. The central mystery cracks open when it is revealed that Dieko is not dead, he staged his entire murder to frame Mary. Before disappearing, Dieko had injected Mary with a strong memory-loss drug to ensure she could not defend herself, using his own drawn blood to paint the gruesome crime scene.
