Yellow eyes is an indie supernatural possession thriller following a young married couple caught in the grip of an ancient, predatory Mesopotamian entity.

Brad Matthews, a young carpenter and his wife, Julia inherit a decaying, rural New England home from an eccentric uncle whom Brad barely knew. The object is a prehistoric Mesopotamian idol covered in a thick, dark, mysterious oil. Believing it might be a rare and potentially valuable artifact, Brad takes it, unaware that the previous owner intentionally sealed it away.

Disturbing the artifact triggers a gradual, seductive demonic possession. The ancient entity inside the idol doesn’t force control immediately, instead, it preys on humanity’s darkest desires, transforming addiction, greed and ego into total submission. As Brad falls deeper under its influence, physical and behavioral changes manifest, suffering from vivid, dark hallucinations. His behavior turns aggressive and dismissive toward Julia, a mysterious black oil begins to appear around and most notably, his eyes turns an unnatural glowing yellow, indicating the entity has taken root. The entity’s malevolent influence begins spreading to people around them, feeding them on their vices and demanding blood to survive.

Brad is masterfully taken over, blending twisted, demented humor with terrifying bursts of violence.
Julia flees the house in deseperate search for a solution and eventually tracks down father Penrose.

Penrose is a hardened priest with a cynical worldview who has faced this specific “Yellow Eyes” entity before. He warns Julia that the ancient demon predates Christianity, does not fear the traditional power of God and that the only way to survive is to put a knife through Brad’s throat. Julia refuses and seeks the help of a theology professor and a spiritualist, they uncover the idol’s history with an obscure cult that used dark communion rituals bound by the protective properties of the black oil.

With Brad’s body physically deteriorating and the entity pushing for final dominance, the group races against time to perform a rate, urgent purification rite under the pressure of an approaching full moon.

The ritual avoids typical exorcism tropes and instead descends into a chaotic, bloody confrontation. Julia fights fiercely to sever the entity’s hold. Ultimately, the ritual succeeds in physically freeing Brad from the immediate possession but the movie delivers a grim, old-school horror ending. Brad is left permanently altered and psychologically scarred by his communion with the predatory entity-proving that once you look into the yellow eyes, you are truly never the same.
