Minions & Monsters is a comedy film following the minions as they conquer 1920s silent Hollywood and accidentally unleash real-world destructive monsters. James and Henry, two minion outcasts, arrive in 1920s Los Angeles and stumble into the emerging movies business. Their talent for physical comedy and slapstick makes them massive silent film superstars. The era of “talkies” arrives and the minions lose their studios contracts because they only speak Minionese.

Rejected by the studios, James decided to write and direct his own independent monster movie, other Minions, led by Dick, find a new master named Dort, an eccentric man claiming to be an alien robot set on world domination. Fort falls in love with a women’s rights activist named Debbie, enlisting the Minions to help him romantically pursue her. Meanwhile, James, Henry and Ed use an old spell book and summon Goomi the Deceived, a small green creature who promises to help them find real monsters for their film.

Goomi leads James, Henry and Ed to a frozen fortress under false pretenses. They free sea monsters Howard and Phillips, but Goomi secretly plans to use them to summon Irene-a massive, multi-eyes orange blob monster meant to destroy the world. James realizes they have been tricked and turns back to save his friend Henry from the dangerous chaos. The third act explodes into frantic monster mayhem as Irene rampages through Los Angeles, forcing the Minions to band together and save the planet.
