Movie Review – OKAFOR’S LAW
Well I would say that the long awaited Nigerian movie “Okafor’s Law” was finally allowed to hit the cinemas this weekend. After some controversies behind the movie and why it shouldn’t air here, well the court removed the injunction on it and I just needed to see this movie. I would say it was a cool movie with a nice story line and interesting actors, but with just one fault the audio, it wasn’t so clear enough and some of us missed out on the action.
The 1hr 52mins nollywood movie was just lovely with A list actors doing what they know best. The lead actor killed it for me Blossom Chukwujekwu also featuring Omon Oboli, Gabriel Afolayan, Richard Mofe Damijo, Ufuoma Mc-Dermott, Kemi Lala Akindoju and Ken Erics. It was a drama movie, was simple with a nice twist and comedy. Okafor’s law was a movie trying to prove to us about an old time theory from the ancient time, to the this theory movies that once a guy has had a girl before, he can always easily have her again, although he almost concluded proving the theory until he fell for one of the girls and dropped out, he even lost 10% of his company shares to this bet.
Well some people in the cinemas kept arguing for and against, the truth was that it was just a movie to keep you wondering and thinking. The nice twist to this movie was at the end when he later changed and asked one of the girls to marry him, my best part of the movie was when “Tomi” one of the 3 ladies of the bet got angry and switched from British English to strong Yoruba language and insulted “Chuks” so badly as she felt hurt.
He was the lead actor also known as “Terminator” for his randy attitudes with girls; he got served in his own coin.
To my verdict I would say Okafor’s Law deserves a 7.5/10 because they had good actors, nice story line, cast and production, except for the audio. Generally a good movie if you need to have a good laugh this weekend.
