SUPERMAN (DCU REBOOT) – ACTION MOVIE REVIEW

3 Min Read

The movie opens mid‑action. Superman, now active for three years, has intervened in a conflict between Boravia and Jarhanpur, drawing global criticism. An attack by the mysterious “Hammer of Boravia” (later revealed as Lex’s clone, Ultraman) launches the first direct challenge to Superman’s physical dominance.

Meanwhile, Lex Luthor dangerous tech‑billionaire and philosophical extremist, steals the missing half of Jor‑El’s message hidden in the Fortress, which orders Superman to “conquer Earth” and build a harem. Lex broadcasts it worldwide, triggering fear, suspicion, and political backlash. Superman, wanting to prove his goodwill, surrenders but is handed over by General Rick Flag Sr. to Lex, who imprisons him in a pocket‑dimension prison powered by a collider.

Inside, Lex forces Metamorpho under threat to his son Joey to manufacture kryptonite to suppress Superman. A psychological torture scene culminates in the cold execution of hostage Malik. Seeing Superman’s suffering, Metamorpho regains consciousness and derives solar light energy from synthetic kryptonite, restoring Superman’s powers.

Outside the pocket, Lois recruits Mr. Terrific and Jimmy Olsen (using tips from Lex’s jilted assistant Eve Teschmacher) to infiltrate LexCorp and breach the pocket dimension. Superman, Metamorpho, Krypto, and baby Joey escape. Recuperating at the Kent farm, Superman reconciles with his human values.

Lex responds by overloading the pocket reactor, creating a black‑hole rift tearing through Metropolis and the world. The Justice Gang, Green Lantern, Hawkgirl, and Metamorpho handle the Boravian invasion, while Superman and Mr. Terrific confront the Engineer and ultrafied Ultraman clone. Superman defeats Ultraman by hurling him into the rift, then shuts down the reactor.

Lois and Jimmy publish proof of Lex’s crimes, restoring public trust. Lex is arrested and sent to Belle Reve prison. In the denouement, Superman reaffirms his commitment to humanity grounded in love rather than alien superiority and smiles as Supergirl and Krypto arrive.

The movie tackles themes like xenophobia, surveillance, moral dilemmas over heroism, and political power all wrapped in hopeful optimism . Cleverly, it sets the stage for DCU growth: featuring cameos by Peacemaker, Maxwell Lord, and Supergirl.
