Movie Review – PASSENGERS
So the year 2017 started on a very good note, with lots of movie out in the cinemas at the same time, making you more confused on what to see. So I opted for an action packed movie this week. “Hmm” what a movie, a movie that leaves you wondering at the end if it was really over, you come out looking speechless and confused, and this was one of those movies. Although I did enjoy this movie, it did have a Funny nice story line, that make you smile and ask questions. How can you give up your life on earth to
travel for 120 years to an unknown planet to start afresh, that didn’t really sink well with me, but I guess a lot of people were excited that day and really enjoyed the movie, after all that was why we were in the cinema anyway.
The 1hr 56mins movie didn’t feel so long as we enjoyed the action so much, it was strange to watch a movie with just 4 main actors and still not get bored. The movie featured stars like Jennifer Lawrence, Chris Pratt, Michael Sheen and was directed by Ori Marmar, Neal H Moritz, and Michael Maher. The movie had a perfect location choice and a nice twist to the story.
A perk into the movie Passengers- the movie started on a very beautiful note, where we see a very handsome young guy chris Pratt, suddenly wake up from his Hibernate box. He went round the space ship looking for anyone else that was awake and found no one except the robot at the bar. For one year he went round the ship all alone, suddenly as he was about take his life, he slips in front a very beautiful lady and after thinking for months decides to wake her up. So he disrupts her hibernation cubicle and she wakes up. His nobel plan was to seek a companion to stay with him for that 90 years. She woke up and after a while she fell in love with Chris. After one year she found out that she had being woken up by Chris, she became angry and bitter and didn’t want to to speak with Chris anymore. Months after the captain wakes up and dies a few days after due to the malfunctioning of his hibernation box. It was then they knew something was wrong, so they were able to detect the problem and make the ship stable so that the remaining over 5,000 people could arrive safely.
So Chris and Jennifer stayed awake for 90 years and made the best of their lives, she also wrote her book so that the people when they arrived at the new colony could read about their story.
To my verdict I will score Passenger 7/10. I feel they really had a good movie, nice science fiction, nice technicality and picture quality. I was worried and confused about seeing this but it turned out to be ok. The brains and thoughts to putting this movie together was just brilliant and magnificent, they pulled it out beautifully well.
The high light for this movie was the fact that they needed to stay awake for 90 years. It sounded strange but they didn’t make it to the colony alive. I would recommend this movie for the action movie lovers to watch and relax this weekend.
