Amina is an historical epic drama following the life of the legendary 16th-century warrior princess of Zazzau Kingdom (modern-day Zaria, Nigeria).
Focusing on Amina’s coming-of-age and her ascension to power. Amina, a young royal in the kingdom of Zazzau, witnesses early combat and boldly declares her ambition to become a warrior.
This caused immediate friction within the royal court as the kingdom’s armies have never recruited a woman.
Guided by destiny and the predictions of an oracle, Amina refuses to accept the traditional boundaries placed on women. Despite facing heavy political resistance from traditionalists like Magaji Mijinyawa, she relentlessly trains in warfare and strategy.

War and treason threaten the stability of the kingdom. Amina steps up, putting her combat training and empathy to the test. Alongside loyal fighters like Danjuma, she leverages her tactical genius to defend the realm, outwit her comical yet dangerous enemies and secure her ascensions as the heir apparent(Magajiya).
Amina shows that against a backdrop of male-dominated court politics and encroaching rival forces, she defied tradition, mastered martial arts and utilised her tactical brilliance to protect her family’s throne.
