Newborn is a psychological film that follows Chris Newborn, Chris Newborn is a Queens carpenter happily planning a life with his pregnant fiancée, Tara. His life shatters when his troubled brother, Kieth, arrives at his doorstep covered in blood after a fatal accident. To protect his brother, Chris rashly swaps clothes with him and takes the blame.

While in prison, Chris is unjustly blamed for another internal crime and is condemned to seven years of strict solitary confinement. Upon his release, Chris tried to piece his life back together, meeting his now seven-year-old son for the first time. However, the profound psychological damage of prolonged isolation leaves him deeply paranoid, severely anxious and unable to process the normal rhythms of the outside world. Noticing his extreme distress, Tara convinces Chris to take a family vacation at an isolated upstate resort that is closed for renovations.

The remote hotel overlooking a lake becomes a psychological pressure cooker. Cut off from the society, Chris begins to experience vivid hallucinations and intense distrust. He starts viewing Tara as a deceptive figure and grows deeply suspicious of Hersh, a mysterious backwoods hunter who is the only other person at the resort. Chris’s deteriorating sanity eventually spirals out of control, threatening the very family he sacrificed his freedom to protect.
