Tekkonkinkreet is an animated film detailing the battle for control over a chaotic, industrial city named Takaramachi (Treasure Town). It centers on two orphaned street children, the tough and violent Black(Kuro) and the innocent, childish white(Shiro), known together as “the cats”.
Treasure Town is a decaying metropolis run by yakuza, but it is protected by Black and white who possess inhuman flying combat abilities.
An external corporate force led by a villain named Snake arrives to demolish the town to build a theme park (Kiddy Kastle). Snake employs three enchanted killers-Dragon, Butterfly and Tiger, to eliminate the brothers.

White kills Dragon in self-defense but is severely injured by Butterfly. Authorities take White into protective custody, leaving Black alone. Without White to keep jim grounded, Black descends into madness and develops a destructive alter ego called the “Minotaur”. He grapples with violence and loneliness as the city falls to the redevelopers.
Black eventually reunited with White, overcoming his violent persona. The two brothers find a balance between good and evil, ultimately finding peace.
Tekkonkinkreet shows that you can’t protect innocence with violence. But without violence, innocence dies. So what do you choose?
Tekkonkinkreet proves that cities aren’t made of concrete. They’re made of children. And when you pave over the children, the city becomes a ghost with a parking lot.
