A lot like love is a thriller drama following Fanaa, a wealthy heiress, daughter of a forex business mogul, whose seemingly perfect marriage to her father’s most trusted aide, Abdul, takes a dark turn during a romantic getaway to Turkey. What was meant to be a joyous celebration quickly transforms into a nightmare predicament.
While heading to the anniversary trip, masked gunmen abduct Abdul. The kidnappers instruct Fanna not to inform anyone, causing her to navigate the crisis alone while dealing with pressure from her social circle, including an ex-lover.

The trip turns into a nightmare, uncovering that the marriage is not what it seems. Abdul, who pretended to be loving and supportive, orchestrated his own kidnapping to con Fanna out of her money. Abdul is actually a fraudster, having faked his love for her and revealed that he has another woman.
In a twist of fate, the lover Abdul intended to run away with ends up stealing the money from him, leaving him in a desperate situation.
The story explores strained love, trust and greed featuring a “disruptive” kidnapping storyline and a tense atmosphere surrounding the $500,000 ransom.
A lot like love shows that your worst enemy might sign your marriage certificate because love in Nigeria isn’t candles, it’s “who sent these gunmen”.
A lot like love outlines the betrayal and greed in love. It is also noted for its exploration of modern relationships within a suspenseful, often predictable Nollywood context.
A lot like love is the precision of the storyline. Right from the beginning, it gets rolling and does not take turns towards things that do not help the viewers in any way. Each scene eases into the next in an organized flow of events until the movie reaches its end. There is no confusion whatsoever.
