FATHERHOOD 2021 (NETFLIX REVIEW)
It was so nice to see Kevin Hart again in this new movie on Netflix titled “Fatherhood”. The movie was released just in time for the father’s day celebration in June and I was glad I saw it.
It was a very simple movie about the story of Kevin, a new father who had to prove himself to the entire family, who thought he was a good for nothing fellow. I was also glad it ended well.
To a bit about the story, Kevin was happily married to the love of his life, his high school sweet heart. They were so in love and had only been married for a short while when something tragic happened.
The first scene started with his wife, Liz Logelin, waiting in the hospital to have a baby, and after a few hours of labor and struggles, she births a baby girl, and she was such a pretty young girl to behold.
Suddenly, after about a day of having the baby, she suffers some complications and dies right before her husband Matthew Logelin, “Kevin Hart”, and he just couldn’t believe it. By the time her parents arrived with gifts for the baby, she was gone. It was a great shock and they all cried and wailed bitterly, but nothing could bring her back. This was when the main movie started.
Her mum felt Matthew wasn’t man enough or responsible enough to raise and father a child alone without the mum. She felt she was the best fit for the baby as the grandmother and she gave Matthew 2 options. She told him to either allow her take the baby along or Matthew resigned and relocated to the town, where he could get help in raising the child. Matthew adamantly refused and insisted he would raise his daughter alone and he did. This came as a shock to everyone.
You would need to watch the entire movie to see how he single-handedly raised his daughter into a pretty handsome girl. He did a good job to his capacity.

I kind of enjoyed this simple movie by Kevin. It brought mixed feelings of tears and laughter at the same time. I loved the fact that he proved them wrong and raised her well. The daughter played her role so well and she was a pleasure to behold. I loved the story, cinematography, costumes and the beautiful end. If you love drama movies based on true life stories, you might want to try this and don’t forget to let us know what you think about it. To my verdict, I would rate the movie 7.5/10. I liked it.
