2 Min Read

The Passenger is a gripping, thrilling and high-stake film following Hassan, a Somali-American airport shuttle driver in Minneapolis, struggling financially and drowning in financial desperation.

He is approached by Lloyd, a distressed 27-year-old traveler stranded at the terminal. Lloyd begs Hassan to illegally drive him all the way to Chicago, claiming he needs to see his dying mother and offers a massive cash payday. Hassan reluctantly takes the job.

Shortly after they hit the highway, a massive explosion rocks the Minneapolis airport they just departed. En route, Hassan noticed Lloyd behaving in a deeply unsettling, unpredictable manner. The psychological tension peaks when it was revealed that Lloyd is wearing a suicide bomb vest and confessed to orchestrating the airport terrorist attack, hitch killed five people.

Trapped at gunpoint and bomb-point, Hassan is forced to keep driving into the night.
The passenger carries a claustrophobic atmosphere and the suspenseful, grounded dynamic between the two leads. Focusing on difficult choices and psychological suspense rather than big, unrealistic action set-pieces, the movie delivers a contained, believable ride.
